and btw you sound just like the guys who said all that same stuff about bluray and 3D.

Big Grin

nm, this isn't the thread to argue stupid over what the new "standard" is.

I think its inappropriate to use language like that in this forum.

Maybe an idea to split the 3d list of movies from this topic and make it a sticky

What i would want to propose is:
to add time settings to the movie title... to a specific part, so people could demo the movie ...
a start and end time frame would rock

sticky it where? not in the hardware section i hope.

Feel free to use the wiki for this. Just make a new page by typing in a title into the URL bar or the wiki search bar.
Any recommendations on what to add to a raspberry pi 2 to get an optical out (just for AC3 5.1)? My surround sound is quite old and doesn't have hdmi inputs, and my tv won't pass it through... I've seen the hifiberry digi+ as an option, but not sure how well this works with kodi and how much config is neededHuh

Buy a new receiver.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/yamaha-650w-...Id=6078137

$300 gets you 5.1 HD Audio and HDMI.

If you already have the speakers and are looking for options and hacks to use old technology you will end up spending more time than it would take you to get a second job for a couple weeks to pay for it. Even if you end up only using it as a pre-pro for your antiquated but "better" old receiver.
New Vidon version with source code.

To get the HiFiBerry working you need to edit the Config.txt of the Pi , see here under the overlay section.

http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/Config.txt

Then just select the HiFiBerry in OpenELEC and select passthorugh. That's about it.

The original image is this one (don't know why you have TAB and I have SBS though...)

That was captured with screenshot key in kodi? And the png is 1920x1080? That suggests you are not in framepacking mode, so only have half the resolution.
Can you run "tvservice -s" when playing a 3D video? It should show "FP" rather than SBS.
Are you using a recent Milhouse build? Do you have "adjust display refresh rate to match video" enabled?
A debug log (wiki) when playing a 3D may help.

I saw that yesterday and PM'd wrxtasy (no reply yet) to ask if this now makes them compliant... or whatever they need to do to be kosher, so we can discuss VidOn openly here w/o feeling dirty Wink.

didnt seem to make any difference on my mini mx, no 3D iso playback, sometimes they will play in 2D, sometimes i get a distorted bluray disc menu with no buttons just bg animation. any passthrough enabled resulted in studdering white noise.
I'll try it on WeTek Core Tongue. Other than original VidOn box, seems only box where their app is working fairly okay is Tronsmart S95.
The VidOn XBMC on the ZidOO X5 is totally useless, there is no improvement compare to the pre-install Kodi on the X5
Guys, if you haven't watched 'The Walk' in 3D yet, watch it! Seeing title screenshots above reminded me.

Second time for me last night. It's movies like this that make 3D totally worth it:
1. Great content,
2. Wonderful/non-gimmicky use of 3D, and
3. Conceived in/meant to be experienced in 3D Smile!

Many scenes in this film give you vertigo, and real sense of what the daring 'Man on Wire' Philippe Petit's feat was all about. And, a great tribute to the trade towers.
