To rule out Kodi, have you tried via native players in Zidoo and HiMedia?

Forgot that on zidoo.. Should try that.
With himedia i dont have that bug, probably cause it uses external player
With chromebox and kodi... Same bug
According to Koying, all these Android players are using external player, some simply with Kodi player UI wrapper on them.

On a kinda related note, have you guys watched 'Ruin' 3D short on 'The Maze Runner' 3D disc? Had to order it based on Blu-ray.com forum user reviews here.
(2015-11-12, 20:18)hdmkv Wrote: [ -> ]As you have a Lumagen Radiance Mini-3D, I (and others here surely) would be very interested in learning what framerates are actually being passed by Pi2, Zidoo X6, etc. Do you also have HiMedia Q5? Would be good to confirm if it too is outputting 23.976 for 3D ISO's or not.

BTW, Pi2 builds have had 3D ISO support since mid-September or so, so don't know why it isn't working for you. Happy to upload a short 3D ISO sample for you to try out.
I have actually reported the refresh rates from my Lumagen Radiance 2123, Mini-3D and also from a Quantum Data 980B protocol analyzer that I have access to at work place (If I had the authority, I would sell that on eBay and buy a Tesla Wink). I was following a policy to report findings only using my personal test equipment, but I made an exception for the nVIDIA Shield. Afterward, I have reported refresh rates detected on the QD for a few other devices. That said, the Pi2 and Zidoo X6 refresh rates are very accurate for 24/50/60Hz. Pi2 refresh rates are also accurate for 23.976/59.940.

No, I do not have the HiMedia Q5. Too many gadgets already Wink

For the life of me, I cannot get frame packing 3D output from Pi2. I have enabled MVC video and full HD HDMI modes for 3D under Acceleration (Settings - Videos). I also have adjust display refresh rate enabled and Sync playback to display disabled under Playback - (Settings - Videos). The file names have 3D.MVC.iso or 3D.MVC.mkv. I can only get SBS playback from both iso and mvc mkv. I can get frame packing 3D output from the same files on Zidoo X6. So, I don't think the problem is with the files or copying. I use DVDFab to make the iso and mvc mkv copies. I just don't know why I am not getting frame packing 3D output from the Pi2.

On Zidoo X6, when you open the iso, you get an option to play the movie as 3d. On the Pi2, it lists the different titles. Is this how it is supposed to be?

PS: Do you have Inside Out 3D? That movie doesn't play from the beginning on both Pi2 and Zidoo X6. It opens with the scene where Joy, Sadness & Bing Bong are riding the train of thought. There is also no option to rewind from this scene and go to the beginning of the movie. PowerDVD opens the iso correctly with language selection.

You have to find the file using browser then click on it and it will play using the zidoo player. I cant actually find the actual player in the apps

I wish there is a way to acquire a review unit, look promising.
Let me ask Simon @ Futeko. He sent me the HiMedia H8 unit for testing. The description does say:
Quote:Venz TLBB V8 will play 1:1 BD-ISO and 3D MVC BD-ISO rips in native Kodi. This is another feature unique to TLBB V8 amongst ARM Kodi boxes.
Other than Minix X8-H using VidOn Kodi, this would be the only other Amlogic S812-H box I'm aware of to claim 3D frame-packing support.

Re: RPi2: Try connecting it directly to your display w/o AVR, Lumagen, etc. in between and re-test if 3D plays okay.

Re: Zidoo X6, the playing options you get for 3D ISO is how it's supposed to be, and you select 'Play with 3D mode'. In RPi2, Kodi devs have already improved this & taken out necessity to have this option. It now automatically detects presence of MVC stream and plays in 3D mode.

Re: 'Inside Out' 3D, have it, but haven't checked it out yet.

Post a debug log (wiki) or report output of "tvservice -s" when playing the movie to confirm whether the Pi is in framepacking mode.
Just received some info. on Venz TLBB V8 4K. The company is based in The Netherlands, and apparently the individual overseeing their European distribution has been involved in the media player business for a long time; Popcorn Hour originally. Also that they're certain box will perform as advertised. Anyway, review unit requested; hopefully will get one.

If Venz TLBB V8 4K indeed works as advertised with OpenELEC (and w/o Android OS bogging it down), it could potentially be a faster Raspberry Pi 2, with HD audio bitstreaming on top of it.

there is old Andorid firmware http://freaktab.com/forum/advertisers-an...-from-venz,
maybe they switch to openelec for better support , rework from wetek core image.
i don't found official website company.
Seems so, because Google search only shows this box w/Android OS on it.
Quote:Venz TLBB V8 will play 1:1 BD-ISO and 3D MVC BD-ISO rips in native Kodi. This is another feature unique to TLBB V8 amongst ARM Kodi boxes.
and more features which are not available on stock Kodi.

So how are they doing that? If pure firmware then no problem, if Kodi changes then we'll need source code according to GPL as soon as some one owns the box?

I can smell GPL violations all over this both with OpenELEC and Kodi. Happy to be proven wrong.

Simon @ Futeko needs to be asked this important question first.
