Can someone tell me how to install Sanear? When I download it from Github, all I see is a register file. I don't see an install file.

Thanks

madvr v0.91.7 was released
(2017-03-04, 17:39)ashlar Wrote: [ -> ]kusanagi, mind walking everybody through the steps you take to achieve what we seek with ffdshow raw?

I think you go to the "Resize & aspect" tab and activate resize, using "Specify aspect ratio" and setting it at 16:9.

Then go to the borders submenu, activate "Outside" borders, leaving Percent at 0%, Dividing borders at 50 for both Vertical and Horizontal and Brightness at 0 (we want black bars, not grey ones).

Is this correct?

The only doubt that I have with this setup is that something happens to the picture itself. It doesn't appear like it but... I'm not sure the resize algorithm, once activated, is smart enough not to work on the whole picture. Which might be fine and dandy for 1080p 1.85/2.35:1 material (as the video portion won't be resized) but... let me check with SD stuff fullscreen (1.78).
Yes, ok... with SD stuff, everything seems fine if you have black borders to add. But if you don't have borders to add, unfortunately, ffdshow's rescaling algorithm will activate for the video content, bypassing madVR's more advanced one.

My suggestion is to combine your approach with mine, activating ffdshow raw only in case there are black bars, so only for 1.85|2.20|2.35|2.40 aspect ratios.

Hi ashlar, sorry for my delay in answering.

I tried a 16:9 (1.77:1) SD video with my settings and I had no trouble with madVR upscaling algorithms. For example, in my test video I could easily notice a difference between madVR's "nearest neighbors" and "bilinear" image upscaling options when I rotated them within kodi.

I leave here images with my settings:

In summary, I specify an aspect ratio of 16:9, check the option to don't do aspect ratio correction, use default settings in "borders" tab, and change resize algorithm (luma method), under "settings" tab, to none. I also uploaded my xysubfilter settings just in case. Smile

If you try these options, let me know how they work for you Wink
I have been deign myself nuts trying to sync the audio with the video. I installed Sanear, and I am bitstreaming. I have been watching movies trying to eye weather the audio and video is in sync, while messing with the delay in LAV. I ha e gone from 0-250, and can't seem to tell the difference. The audio does still seem a little off. Any tips on if there is an easier way would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yeah - been toying with the new settings.

I think that there is now an auto update feature in Dsplayer that will update the GUI settings depending on which version of MadVR is being used - don't think the repo has been updated for the latest MadVR release yet, hopefully it will soon.

Lol, as I said, i've been playing with the new version of MadVR, but the settings have changed. This effects Dsplayer when using load and save Madvr settings using dsplayer database, as the GUI in dsplayer needs updating to reflect the new changes in Madvr - I'm pretty sure Aranoz has added a new repo to dsplayer for Madvr settings Gui, but I don't think its been updated for 0.91.7 yet.

From the 1st page:

06 February 2017 (x86-2ede90d) (x64-733b1c8)
Added auto-update system and multi madVR versions support for the OSD Settings (from madVR 0.91.3)
Added builtin addons repository.dsplayer and script.madvrsettings to manage the auto-update

OK,
If I try that, I still need to manually see how much of a delay I need by raising the number in increments?

Thanks

My Kodi DSPlayer load the madVR profile correctly. I run the latest madVR 0.91.7 and I used the DSPlayer 64bit of the first post.

Ok, the trick was to have resize settings set to "none". There is still a problem preventing this to be a "for all situation" solution. I tried with some DVD that were 720x576 (PAL) anamorphic. So although the 720x576 is 4:3 it's displayed as 16:9 because it's encoded with that aspect ratio. In that case ffdshow gets confused, adding bars to the sides, where none would be needed. I haven't managed to find a combination of settings that solved this.
