Installed a new 1030 today (replacing a 750 ti) and now I don't get any video when playing 4K HDR.  Was working fine with the old card (not counting the terrible stuttering since the 750 ti can't decode HEVC) but now only the audio plays while the screen remains black no matter how long I let it run.  Then when I stop playback, the video I'm playing will flash on for just a split second before exiting, resolution zooms to 800x600, and HDR won't disengage until I reboot.  Have tried with both 385.41 drivers and updating to 390.77 and have reinstalled DSPlayer also but still no luck.  Meanwhile the same files play perfectly in MPC-BE including HDR disengaging after playback even with the new drivers (I'm on Win7 which is why I had rolled back to 385.41 in the first place).

Anyone have any ideas?

post your control+j screen while playing a HDR movie.
My GPU can't decode HEVC HDR content so my CPU must do it.

Hey all, just a quick question... I currently have the official version of Kodi v17.6 installed, with some issues related to broken DX11 AMD drivers (no surprise there).  I want to install the DSPlayer version because all of my video playback issues that I have with Kodi are non-existent when using MPC-HC and LavFilters, so I'm guessing that this will probably resolve my problems.

Question is - if I install DSPlayer, will it modify my library and other customized settings to the point that I can't go back to official Kodi if I decide to?  Or can I just reinstall official Kodi and resume where I left off if I decide to go back?

thanks

first thing i've noticed is your havent got CRU set in MADVR, you need to create a custom resolution for 23,976 hz in MADVR which is why you are getting a frame repeat every few mins.

You must have a beefy system, I cant get my I7 2700k to decode 4k HDR, straight to 100% cpu.
you really need to pickup a 4k gfx card though really, pretty much everything is stupidly overpriced at the moment though. I'm using an RX550, plays everything fine until I push the quality in MADVR. If I had the case i'd get a RX580, too many issues with NV cards for me to bother with those.
I have a Windows 10 PC with a Nvidia GTX 1070 and a Sony XE93 TV. How setup so that I can use HDR?

Nevermind.  Decided to upgrade to a 1050 ti instead and everything worked fine with that card out of the box.  Still weird to me that DSPlayer wouldn't play video from the 1030 at all, even after I reinstalled everything (card, driver, madVR, + DSPlayer) and confirmed the exact same settings on everything as the working 750 ti and 1050 ti, but I suppose it's academic now.
someone should compile new version becouse of new LAVFilters and new MadVR renederes its crashing here alot Sad
It's not crashing at all for me.  And for a lot of people it's fine.  So a new build won't change anything really.   One thing I do is not use DSplayer's control of madVR, I tell it to use madVR's own settings.
Video Renderer setting is greyed out for me, can't select EVR.
Tried all DSPlayer versions from 16.1 to 17.6, on 2 separate PCs running Windows 10 1607 and 1709
evr.dll is present in system32, and EVR-CP is present in MPC-HC.
Any solutions is appreciated, however I do not want MadVR.
I found a bug with playing mkv files with editions

this mkv wouldn't even give me the option to choose an edition to play using kodi 17.6, but i went back and tried on an older version of dsplay (16.0 beta1) and it had a popup telling me to select the edition

i'm not really sure what the point of having the editions in the chapter file was, but the fact that i need to remove it is kind of annoying.

here's a small sample of the file (10mb)  if someone wants to try themselves to see why it does that.
