I will check which hardware decoding I'm using. Which one is recommended?

I'm using Nvidia 1050 card with latest drivers. Output is going to JVC projector. Projector automatically goes to HDR mode so I'm guessing it has to something MadVr settings? ImageImageImage
You didn't know that all HDR video looks like that?

If you are using D3D11 Native hardware decoding, try DXVA2 (copy-back) instead. I can't remember if this fixed it, but I have seen the pink wave before. It looks like bad video decoding, to me.
I don't think a bad encoding will effect menu bars and logos ?

It depends on the hardware. Use the one that works.

Yes, bad hardware decoding can corrupt the entire screen during playback. The image is usually green, not pink, but it is the same idea.

If it is not that, then I would suspect a driver bug is the problem. If this PC was upgraded and not new, you need to run a utility like DDU to clean the old drivers and install fresh, new ones. You should also be using the most recent version of madVR. There is a chance that madVR is at fault, but it is not likely if you are using anything besides D3D11 Native decoding. If D3D11 Native is not working, then it is definitely madVR as D3D11 Native was coded in madVR as part of the decoding process. One of the available decoding options should work.
Do you have any news about a Leia based Kodi DSPlayer?
I would like to use my favorite skin (Estuary MOD 2) and madVR.
yes, the news is read the thread.

Maybe some people have privileged relationship with aracnoz or madshi. Wink

madshi is not involved in DSPlayer's development. And, as far as I know, nobody here has special access to get in touch with aracnoz.
What everybody can see for him/herself is that aracnoz visited these forums last time on November 27th 2017. Which is not particularly encouraging, to be honest.

He never logs into his profile. I think he does this on purpose to not get the hopes up that he is returning. He did make an update to the madVR Settings add-on three months ago, so he is still out there.

Any update on the pink screen? No need to give up if the first attempt didn't fix it.
I am falled into something, when I use NGU sharp high (spline 3 AR too) with madVR I have more noise (and more in windows mode) than spline36 into Kodi(no windows mode, pixel shader, no DXVA), MadVR should be better?

Thank you for the suggestion. Switching to DXVA2(copy-back) fixed the color problem but has introduced a problem where I cannot play a video in fullscreen mode. If I try it, the screen goes blank and I just hear some sound with few seconds delay.

It is pretty hard to determine what is going on there. If you see noise that is not in the source, then something is likely not right. That usually means banding, which usually means colors are being distorted by the PC or display.

Are you outputting from madVR at 10-bits and Kodi 8-bits? Is your GPU set to something other than RGB Full? Are you using different video levels with madVR (limited vs. full)? Did you change something under dithering settings? Are you using artifact removal? Disable reduce banding artifacts, reduce ringing artifacts, reduce compression artifacts and reduce random noise.

Try disabling hardware decoding in LAV Video to match Kodi.

I can't think of anything more than that. Maybe you are watching a nasty torrent with artifacts that are simply being enhanced by aggressive image scaling. In that case, try NGU Anti-Alias. You could always go back to VideoPlayer...
8bit software and full range for both.
I have disable smooth motion and in exclusive mode the noise is very tiny, present in windows mode. Nothing with kodi spline36 exclusive.

After many try, I switch to jinc and noise vanish in exclusive mode.

That does sound strange. Jinc is fairly soft. I assume you already tried NGU Anti-Alias?

You could also uncheck “use colored noise” under dithering. That won’t likely make any difference, but you might be seeing dithering noise. Also, make sure you didn’t check “add grain” under upscaling refinement. And Error Diffusion 2 could maybe help.
NGU AA high have noise too, with Error Diffusion 2 and no smooth motion and another post-processing
