Full Version: Just after installing PseudoTV I get "initializing" forever

Hi, I'm not a newbie to PseudoTV, been using it for a long time now. I was having problems with it under Windows 7 such as not being able to exit Kodi properly, and having to abend the program by ending the Task. I installed Windows 8 and got all the updates and so forth, and installed Kodi and PsuedoTV, thinking this would solve my problem. But it hasn't, so I replaced my entire OS for nothing. When I run PseudoTV, I get a black screen with "Initializing" on it, and I don't know what exactly that it's initializing but I can leave it on there for an hour or more and am unable to run PseudoTV. I'm using Lunatix's repository to install the software, and it seems to install properly, but the first time I run it and each subsequent time I try to exit Kodi and run it again I have the same problem. PseudoTV will simply not get past the Initializing screen.

Any ideas? I need PseudoTV back again. I love this script!!!!

Thanks!
Are you using a fully populated Settings2?

I have had issues almost every time I upgrade PTVL trying to "keep" my old watch history so all the channels don't revert back to S01E01. As a test you could try and copy your addon data to another backup location and delete all the cache and playlist files and let it all rebuild.

If that fails, try and start a new settings2 channel list by creating just a single channel and see if it loads.

I don't think you will get much help otherwise without the required Log files which somewhere will say where it's getting stuck.
Unfortunately I'm not going to be much help here. I just wanted to state that Kodi hanging on exit is a known issue. There's a work around for linux, but I'm not sure about windows.

I'm just going to say that it took a long time to finish initializing for me this time around, but after waiting patiently it did finally start up. Just takes awhile on some systems. Incidentially I'm watching the Blues Brothers (local copy) while it continues to build and I'm on channel 327 having just been added. I'm guessing the more channels the longer it needs to work....LOL...it's worth it though!
