I'm new.

Having issues connecting to any 3 folders being listed from my mac but doesn't do anything trying to connect to the folders. Mostly i think its my iTunes folder that Kodi is trying to connect to.

I've tried sharing a folder and the Fire TV doesn't see the folder I've just shared. I have all my media of tv shows n movies on my OS X, I liked to stay away from using Windows if possible and used quiet a lot of space of what my drive has.

2 days ago I bought the Fire TV and installed Kodi myself.

I'm just stuck getting connected to my mac.
Anthony215, please see this thread where a lot on work has been done by myself troubleshooting OSX SMB sharing issues.

My conclusion is not all Kodi releases have up to date SAMBA client protocols that will talk to the very security conscious OSX SAMBA servers.

Current Android Kodi releases will not work when trying to access SMB shares on an OSX Mac. You need to use v14.2.0 of SPMC or a Kodi 15.0 Isengard nightly. Nothing else will work.

Koying the Kodi Android developer has done a very good job with SPMC, its stable and I recommend it.

I heard there was a mess with SAMBA, SMB, I have Kodi 14.2 at the moment and making a bkup of Kodi right now and plan’n on updating it to 15.0 Isengard Nightly afterwords. I'll see what I can do with 15 then try out the 2 links.

I use adbFire, just use that to update Kodi via Install APK option?
I was able to accomplish this by installing SMBUp on OS X, any shares I created now work fine with Kodi 14.2 and FireTV
I got SPMC on there, not sure how i did it but tells me an error page saying error not compatible, also bit confused on how to install when all i get is folders and how can i connect to the sd card directory from my mac.

tried using SMBUp, seems to be broken, can't get start un-disabled, also keeps crashing to, even after i quit the app, asks me options and chose "save changes & quit", "start samba service for me and quit app", admin pswd, then error starting, can't save it. I see online there's talks of a v3.0 of SMBUp but all i find is v1.4.1.

OSX 10.10.2 / Kodi 14.2
