I've been trying out Pulsar on my OpenElec installation in combination with a PPTP VPN server.
Since I'm a bit paranoid, I want to be sure that all torrent traffic is routed through the VPN connection. So I tried looking at the active connection counter on my router for the OpenElec client, because I expect it to not increase a lot when using torrents over VPN (am I wrong??).
When not using any torrent software, my connection count is about 20.
When using KMediaTorrent my connection count is about the same (20).
However, when using Pulsar the connection count is increasing to more than 150 after a few seconds!
To me it looks like KMediaTorrent traffic is routed through VPN, but Pulsar isn't. Can anyone with a better understanding of network traffic verify this (or even better tell me that I'm wrong)?
