I am trying to add a tvshow.nfo file to my root tv show folder but whilst the show appears in my list of TV shows and each episode nfo file is working, the top level nfo file is not being picked up and so the Show description scrolling text is not appearing in the list of shows

Kodi version 14.0
this is my file

<tvshow>
<title>Show name</title>
<rating>9.900</rating>
<season>1</season>
<displayseason>-1</displayseason>
<displayepisode>-1</displayepisode>
<outline>Show description etc</outline>
<plot>Show description etc</plot>
<genre></genre>
<premiered></premiered>
<studio></studio>
</tvshow>

Any help gratefully appriciated
I would recommend using a program like Ember Media Manager or Mediaelch to do this.
Kodi to scrape and use library export to seperate files. This will generate a correctly formatted nfo file, without the need for any third party scrapers.
Keep in mind that for content that is already scanned in, you must refresh (wiki) the information in order to see changes from NFO files.
Or do a rescan with debug logging enabled and provide a Debug Log. Without that log we canĀ“t see, where it hangs

Greetings
