Don't understand why when I boot into Linux terminal and upgrade to the latest stable release why I now have Isengard and not 14.2 helix which has made vevo music videos and many others non-functional. This happened before as well, I enter all of the commands to get the stable release as detailed on the wiki yet I don't get the stable release and functionality always seems to suffer as a result...
You haven't told us your distro or version so I'll guess ubuntu, or something based on it.

How about you give us the output of

Are you using Kodibuntu 32 bit? If yes, this comes with the nightly repository installed. It isn't available anymore at the download section.

But as nickr mentioned...we need this output to know on which repository you are. If you want to, you can also look at /etc/apt/sources.list.d to check which sources are installed
