Hello,

With the latest Pi builds , I get immediate freezing of live tv when a channel is selected using VDR.

It occurs within choosing of any channel? ( sd or hd )

It seems to coincide with a message ''Vdr vnsi client starting epg scan''

I have never seen this message coming up before??

Heres the log:
http://xbmclogs.com/pypiwhiii

the behaviour starts at 22:19:42 for this log

Any ideas?

Kodi related or VDR related?

Many thanks

Those Milhouse builds contain a whole lot of changes not in Kodi mainline. Hard to tell what the issue is. The same version of vnsiserver and vnsi addon run fine here.

Could you set vdr logging level to 3 and post syslog?
Thanks fernetmenta,

appreciate the reply.

How do i get a VDR syslog from the Pi?

And do you mean 'EPG debug level 3', which is all I can find in VDR client settings on the Pi?

Cheers

Here you go: http://pastebin.com/ckKPCLR2

Forgot you add that restarting vdr solves the issue (for some time ofc)
hello ace,

Was that a mistaken post? - or are you supplying the syslog log for VDR freezing from your own system?

I did some investigation on what versions are in OE 5.0.8. It has included a development version (not yet released) of vnsiserver. I think the issue is already fixed in vnsiserver. Try a version of OE which includes a more recent version.
HI,

thanks for the reply

At the moment, VDR seems unusable ( on the Pi)

Despite several fresh installs, it either freezes, or goes into this ''no client add on enabled'' loop ?

I have tried the latest version updates, and have tried downdating to 'stable' 5.0.8. but it still is not working??

Is this just me :-)

I tried vnsi head and v1.2.1 but had no luck. Playback still stops after a few seconds.

I have set "avoid epg scan while streaming" to yes. Now it works again.
do you use a dual tuner caed?
I think my assumption was wrong. The issue happened again. With the frozen video in the background I opened the client specific setting (vdr osd) and the playback resumed.
So now I guess that opening the osd did something "good".
Ah well.

went back to 5.0.8

client 1.9.25

server 4.3.11

been working for a couple of days

have fresh installed so many times, and had crashes , I think I am going to stick for a while.

what version of vnsiserver is this?
It started with an old one, then I tested head and now I have 1.2.1 installed.
