I was trying to find out if it is possible to have kodi stop at a blank screen after a file finishes playing instead of going back to the file view or library view.

The reason for this is to keep the wife happy so after a kids show finishes that they are watching, it will not show a list of more shows they will then ask to watch.

Is this at all possible with some kind of settings file or xml somewhere that can tag like an after playback function on the video player?

My guess is that unless some developer sees a need for such a function, that'll you'll have better luck reprogramming the wife... neither is likely a viable or attractive prospect.

You do realize, that about the time they ever view a second show they'll be onto you anyhow and be asking for the other ones sans menu...

Leave Kodi on another screen and then start/stop movies using a smartphone/tablet remote or the web UI remote.
