I use a VPN server and OpenVPN on my Ubuntu 15.04 laptop and debian RaspberryPi2. I can switch between local and vpn using the gnome network manager; all very smoothly. However, it seems that the OpenVPN add-on (script.openvpn-2.1.0.zip) does nothing. I see pop-ups as if all is OK but my network settings do not change. The log file (Log Viewer for Kodi) does not show any activity on openvpn. Did I miss something on install of the add-on?
Cheers, jw

Sorry having bothered you. After browsing through the source I found that it was a sudo problem that must be in the settings and it was.
Everything OK now.
I have the same problem:
Quote:ERROR: Cannot ioctl TUNSETIFF tun: Operation not permitted (errno=1)

Where do you place sudo in the settings file?
