Hey there.

I usually stop a movie while paused and play random trailers or do other stuff while paused.

When using eventghost I had it so that I could bind a "Resume last played movie/episode" to a key using the jsonrpc.

Can I do the same without eventghost so I can use it on my fire tv?

I only want to resume Movies or TV Episodes and not other videos. I can probably filter those with knowing if they have an IMDB or TMDB ID or not.

Do you know if this can be done?

You should be able to edit the keymap.xml and bind a specific key on your firetv remote to either window ID or name

Have a look through the wiki or someone more knowledgeable may post the ID/window required
