I have Kodi installed on a Minix X8-H Plus machine (S812) advanced wake on lan is working.
But the built in WOL is not working. I tried to use the wol.xml file in userdata. But it still does
not work.
Any one with the same problem? Or is it a known issue?
OK, log shows an entry for server 192.168.1.4, I assume that is your NAS then
But there is no attempt to play or access anything on the NAS so no attempt to wake it has been done. Try to play something and grab the log of what happens then
noticed that and a new one is up there already
Another edit: changed name to Qbox (my nas path name) now I see a wake on lan message but it takes a looong time until something happens ;(
PS: Without out wol.xml i get the error message: mac discovery failed.
Ok figured it out, I misunderstood the "netinittimeout" setting. I thought that is the time to wait after WOL. Not before... (or while WOL is performed).
Maybe at in the wiki that this is the time Kodi will wait before any WOL attempt will be send?
Still the "little bug" stays that Kodi claims "mac discovery failed" if I´m not manualy setting the wol.xml
So it is working for you now if I understand correctly? The "mac discovery" part is of course only possible when server is running, please post a log with the fail and I will have a look.
Please help, Mac discovery failed in Android. If I do the same thing on Windows it works perfectly.
