Dear members.
I am having a problem after updating yesterday Kodi 14.0 to the latest Kodi 15.0 ( the GooglePlayStore).
I can't connect to my computer with Windows SMB. My music is on my computer...
It always worked but after the update this is going wrong. I tried to make a new connection, but I get the error "ERROR 2 Share not available".
Anybody has any idea? Working on this the whole day already.
Thanks

Ron
What type of connection, wired or wifi? please post a debug_log (wiki) of you attempting to create the connection.
It's wifi and I have no idea where to get a debug_log.
I am using a Minix 7 neo
Oh guys. I am begging you. Please help me. I try to connect by SMB... Wireless to my compuer upstairs. Nothing canged om my computer. By connecting to my computer I get the message ' ERROR 2 share not avalible'.
My computer has a password (my google account), but after the password I get that error.
I dont know where to get the dubug_log.
I am using a minix neo7. I have a usb cable if you want me to use that.
Anyway.... You guys are my last hope. Please help this poor boy Wink
This explains how to get your debug log: http://kodi.wiki/view/Log_file/Advanced
Im sorry... But it doesn't say how to get this debug log file. I try to find it , but with what. I can browse in music, video, etc. How do i open this file so I can see the bebug log.
This i ment only for people who understand all this short letterwords (GUI, SMB, IRC, JSON, RPC, CEC.... ETC..)
That doesn't mean anything to me.
Please explane to me in simple talk how to do it.

Oh... When I tried to connect on SMB it says in the top 'lock preferences for SMB'.
Found on the internet that I had to remove my windows live ass. Manager. Well.... I do not have that so there was nothing to remove.
Use these instructions instead: Log file/Easy (wiki).

Getting the same issue, connecting wireless, other machines are getting to the shared drives without any problem, I will post a log from the Android phone (Note 4). Any/all help appreciated.

Log :http://xbmclogs.com/pcglemt6d

I browse to the network and nothing is there? but i can browse to it form all other Windows devices without any issue.
I had this problem and I spent the last several hours trying to fix it. I finally got it.

The problem started when I upgraded to Windows 10 build 10162. I fixed it by adding a registry entry.
-Open the registry editor
-Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters]
-Add the string value "IsMasterDomain" with "Yes" as the value
-Restart windows

Thanks, I added this to our wiki.
I think there could be an issue with using smb over WiFi as I encountered a similar issue on the Shield, a wired connection works perfectly however, unfortunately I not had the time to dig any further yet and extract the logs needed for someone like koying to take a look.

I'd suggest to be careful about adding that the wiki.
Election of the master browser is central to smb, and is supposed to be done automatically.

If the win10 machine is the only smb server in the picture it should be the master nevertheless, so it might be a bug of this beta build of Windows.
Helix has no such issues with Windows 10 (including 10162). Password protected SMB shares work just fine over wi-fi.

I'm using W7 and none of the shares have password on them any more (I removed them to eliminate that as an issue). I could try to find a W10 build but would rather not go down that path unless its the only solution.

I have to agree. The wiki should be for tried and tested methods. Not to mention it involves messing with the registry editor which should be your last option. It was for me, but maybe others won't have that issue the same.
