Useful bit of info. On my pi2 with:
Code:
total_mem=256
gpu_mem=128
Your VC1 file (and the others) play without corruption.
Now there is a restriction with h.264 videos that all the picture buffers need to be within the same 256M chunk of memory.
I wonder if there is something similar with VC-1 that is not being enforced.
Anyway - a useful data point for debugging.

Looks like build 0824 stopped the frame skipping with DVDPlayer and 720p content in full screen video mode.
Don't celebrate yet. If the GUI is up (channel guide with video scaled down or with main menu showing, the audio plays fine, but the video falls behind. When I go back to full screen, the video races to catch up with the sound. As Spock would say, fascinating. Seems to work fine as long as video is full screen. This was when watching live TV. When the video catches back up, the skip count increases rapidly as the video is racing (this actually makes sense to me).

I did make a subsequent commit for this issue that didn't make this build, so it's possible it will behave better in tomorrow's build.
Okay, at least I can keep using DVDPlayer. It's much better than 0823 and seems to work fine full screen. Even when not full screen, or with GUI overlay (except the OSD codec info, for some reason it has no effect) it loses audio sync, but catches back up soon after going full screen again.
My rpi2 has for soms reason stopped accepting builds. Latest succesfully installed was 0822. Everything after that fails to install. It downloads the build, it reboots but instead of seeing the update progress, the screen comes up with the kodi splash screen followed by the window that a newer build is available. So I'm in sort of a loop.
Hey popcornmix, was there anything in my debug log that would explain an issue with my Hifiberry and the default video player? (dvdplayer)
http://xbmclogs.com/pbgtsxxqi
Quote:Hey. I'm not entirely sure if my current issue is to do with this build. I'm having issues with my Digi+, the system sounds work, but as soon as I start playing a video, I get no sound at all through the both toslink and digital outputs. With passthrough on and off. I was told it could be the dvdplayer backend is not using the soundcard. Is there any way for me to be able to see if this is the case? Or has anyone else experienced this?
I have used the guides from them with success, just this odd issue seems to be happening.

Are you using Leopolds Dev Update add-on to download builds? Did you read

I still get hangs/lockups in Kodi GUI. Tried to open "Programs" and got this:
Same happened yesterday morning. System was IDLE for about 5 hours before the lockup.
"top" after lockup:
Then I killed kodi with SIGABRT ang got this Crashlog:
http://pastebin.com/y89c7WJZ
Looks like the hangs between 2 videos are fixed for me. Never seen it again, but this seems to be a different problem.

Also you have 165 threads running in your gdb log. That seems an awful lot. (In my debug environment I typically have between 20 and 30). Do you have a lot of addons installed?

You seem to be using omxplayer which doesn't support hifiberry. Make sure you haven't disabled MMAL in video/acceleration settings.
(leaving omxplayer enabled should be okay as long as MMAL is also enabled).

Thanks for your help. The problemen was that my OpenELEC Dev Update version was still 4.8.0 so a very old onder that doesn't update itself automatically. Had to download the zip file manually. Now running 4.17.0 I guess when 4.17.1 or whatever next number comes out I have to get the latest zipfile manually downloadde.

You should install install the repository from the zip, then install the addon from within the repository, and then the add-on will automatically update. If you install an add-on from a zip, it will never automatically update.
See the "Installation" section on
the Dev Update page (scroll down - don't click on the ".zip" link at the top of the page) to install the repository. Probably not necessary, but I'd uninstall your existing Dev Update add-on before adding the repository etc.
