Apologies if this is an obvious one..

Many of the Streams that I've tried will take forever to load which usually results in me having to reboot the Fire TV Stick, is there a particular way to cancel a stream that is taking far too long/not working?
When waiting for a stream to open, the back key is used to cancel (the stop button doesn't tend to work until playback has started).
There have been cases where bugs in the code don't handle a broken stream well (https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/7334 was a recent fix for a behaviour like this),
but try back key first.

The back key was the first thing I tried, but didn't work.
How would I go about applying the fix you mention?
That specific fix will be included in the upcoming v15 release. You can try a nightly build (wiki) if you don't want to wait.

EDIT: However, I'm don't think (maybe?) that specific example and fix will help you in this case, but it shouldn't hurt to try a nightly build anyways.

EDIT EDIT: I reread the PR. Maybe it does apply. It's late. In any case, try a nightly build (wiki) and see if that helps :)
