Yeah - on my list for January :-) Can you find someone else not running a chromebox with the same issue?

Fritch I have had some freezes on the BYT using EGL openelec 6 builds, but no logs et.al, they reminded me of Intel Turbo bug, and tbh I havn't had time to do anything about it.

edit: havnt hadJarvis tests, will update and see what happens.
BYT is something special - as it is broken by Kernel ... setting maxcstate to 1 will fix that for you.
Ok, so still old kernel stuff, thanks. Sorry I couldnt be of help then Smile
Nope - you are always a help - as you are polite and provide logfiles :-) - get yourself a Braswell :-)

OK then, I'll try to find more people. Will also post on Chromebox thread to see if there's someone else using ppa version (seems openelec is the preferred choice mostly because Matt the dev use it and support it) and if they have/had the same bug.
As I need a working OS with kodi I'll have to install custom kodibuntu or just go with win10.

I'll get back to you in January then to debug this. Thank you.
@Veronica:

Yeah - please also post another set of logfiles, please.

Ok.. I read about new era all over internet. But no mention of egl; only unreleased Vulkan. I simply thought you're the man (that is with Linux and rendering) but thnx anyway.
After a reboot I have to first go to Settings -> System so it recognizes all the different refresh rates (The screen flickers once)
When I start a movie without doing that first the refresh rate always stays at 60 HZ.
So for refresh rate switching to work i first have to got to Settings->System

I'm using Lubuntu 15.10 and followed your guide. AsRock Beebox N3150

Read again the first post ... there is a fixed driver linked which solves this 60 hz issue.
Sorry. It's the second post. I'll try right now.

UPDATE: Now it works (Driver from Dropbox). Thank you very much.
New build is online. Cudos to Fernet who has fixed TrueHD issues.
I had this week 2 crashes of kodi, and the last log entry from kodi crashlog was "ERROR: WinSystemX11::RefreshWindow - failed to query xrandr"
Strange it was always early in the morning without usage. Unfortunately I hadnt gdb installed so maybe not all neccesarry Informations are available.

@Brujo: What do the logs show?
I getting scared when you ask me that way - this sounds like I obviously overseen / missed something from post #1 :-(
I will go over it again and Hope springs eternal.
