Full Version: VNSI Timeshift data folder

Hi

I just got fed up with TVH and installed VDR with VNSI:5. From my first test it is working well.

VDR is running on Debian wheezy (Openmediavault). The SSD has a small system partition and a bigger one which I wanted to use for timeshift data.

Since I did not stumble upon an option to store the TS data in VDR I wonder where VDR / VNSI is storing the timeshift data - since TS setting is under "client specific" I assume it is stored on the clients HDD, correct?

If it is stored on the VDR server where is folder and can it be changed?

thx
LOL - Found it :-) , it is in the recording folder "Timeshift-*.vnsi"

@FernetMenta

Can this be moved to a different folder/partition?
yes, check out TimeshiftBufferDir in setup.conf. You can change this via vdr ui.

Hi

Thx, but sadly that entry is missing.

Will a simple "TimeshiftBufferDir = /media/mypoartition/folder/" suffice?

Ahh ok.

I just don't have a GUI/OSD since it is running headless on my Openmediavault server - so I have to make that entry manually in y setup.conf.
you run Kodi headless? how do you watch tv then?

Kodi is on a different machine Big Grin

Headless server: Openmediavault with DD 4x CineS2 6.5 and VDR and Emby media server
Clients: 1 HTPC and a couple of Notebooks with Kodi or Emby Webinterface
VDR UI is displayed inside Kodi. If you navigate (inside Kodi) to System - TV - Client Specific - VDR UI, you see VDR UI.

vnsiserver.Timeshift = 0
vnsiserver.TimeshiftBufferDir =
vnsiserver.TimeshiftBufferFileSize = 6
vnsiserver.TimeshiftBufferSize = 5
