recently ripped the extended lord of the rings collection. since they are on two discs i just joined both discs together into one huge 60gb mkv file for each movie

the problem is, for some reason kodi doesn't want to play the file once it gets to where you would put in the 2nd disc. perhaps it is because of all the chapters and them restarting at 1-28.

anyone have any idea how i can make this file play correctly? thanks
I'd suggest...

1. Leaving it as two files - Kodi will pick them up sequentially if they're named correctly and immediately play the second one. So I have a folder that contains:

The Lord of the Rings - I - The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended) - Part 1.mkv
The Lord of the Rings - I - The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended) - Part 2.mkv

... for example. Indeed, if you right-click on a file that's 'stacked' like this, you can select which part you want to play, or just play from the beginning.

2. Open the file in MKVToolnix and use the chapter editor to rename the chapters so they follow on correctly.
