On a brand new install of Ubuntu 14.04.3 I can not play any videos. They play for about 10 minuets and then I get hardlocked. I have been using this same hardware for over a year. I was on 14.04.2 with kodi 15.0 before and it was working although I did have a few freezes durring playback but very rare. I am using emby media server in this log however this happens on a clean install with a local video as well. Exactly the same symptoms.

Any help is apperiated.

If you can, get screenshots to illustrate problems (See below)
Hardlock. Just a clean frozen video frame.

Removed all addons, Played local files and network. HD and SD. Menus can be worked will indefinatly. Hardlock only happens on video play back about 10 minuets in. Some audio skipping happens during playback as well. Audio over HDMI.

Detailed instructions to reproduce the problem (The more specific the better.)
Hard Crash happens on video playback of any video. I can skip around to any point and watch for about 10 minuets. Movies and TV shows. Local and network.

Thanks. That appears to be the problem. Looks like the quick fix would be downgrading the kernel. If anyone can help me with the easiest method to do this. When I tried upgrading I really broke things.

My significant other just had surgery last night and she will be going home today and I want to get this stable again so she can relax. So I'm doing this on my phone from the hospital.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Joe
I can give you the following kernel (though you need to trust me):

Code:
wget https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55728161/linux-headers-3.19.2-legacy%2Bedid%2B_3.19.2-legacy%2Bedid%2B-10.00.Custom_amd64.deb
wget https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55728161/linux-image-3.19.2-legacy%2Bedid%2B_3.19.2-legacy%2Bedid%2B-10.00.Custom_amd64.deb

sudo dpkg -i *3.19.2*deb
Thank you so much Fritsch. That did the trick. Everything is running like new and she is enjoying comfortably.

When I first upgraded I had to get the GRUB menu and boot into the recovery once but then it booted fine normally.

Again, thanks so much for your help.
If you get an issue with pressing "stop"

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:wsnipex/vaapi
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install vainfo i965-va-driver
No issues with stop. But I am still getting a lot of audio skipping. And I just had a hardlock. I has been working fine until just now.

This was the end of the kodi.log just before the crash.

The kodi log has those lines repeated hundreds of times.
I am watching the other log files but theres nothing out of the ordinary.
