is there a way to bypass the home screen at launch and load directly to a view or to the myvideonav.xml
effectively making it the first/home screen at launch

You're welcome. However, it actually offers limited option. If you want to go to a special section of MyVideoNav.xml (ex. movies), then you will have to change the code.
