Another important issue: Is the FCC (US-market) and CE (Europe) marking printed on the power supply and the unit? If not or it is just a sticker, customs usually complain and destroy the entire shipment or send it back. Especially here in Germany the rules are very strict.

Will you be able to map (password protected) Network drives(NFS ; SMB and UPNP) within Kodi without complication like some Android Media Player?

Are you saying there will be a pro version supporting these?

Don't you need to be a Netflix certify device to be able to support Netflix HD or 4K?

netflix hd or netflix 4k support is server license ( approved device ), if device is approved netflix android app enable hd or 4k.
example the only device 4k i know approved is nvidia shield.
nVidia Shield, Fire TV, Nexus Player and WeTek 4K. Doubt Zidoo or others would be able to get Netflix approval.
To the Zidoo developers heres a killer feature i would like to see implemented in the future...

Source Direct / bypass (video)

This allows the video to arrive at the AV receiver untouched No processing at all, this allows us to have a calibrated video processor or a calibrated TV/projector with the purest video signal from the file....

The Picture Quality is TOP

Different manufactures apply their own names:

Oppo: Source direct
Sony: original resolution

some examples of BD players with this feature:
Sony S-790
Marantz ud5007
Denon DBT-1713UD
Onkyo BD-SP809
Oppo 93/95
Oppo 103/105
That's often requested - but it's a very difficult feature to realise - because so many video files around these days are not in a standard video resolution.

The only real video resolutions that can be output via HDMI for consumer displays are :

720x576i
720x480i
720x576p
720x480p
1280x720
1920x1080
3840x2160
4096x2160

(Sure you can also get VGA, SVGA, WVGA etc. - but they are less standard for consumer video gear)

Those are the main resolutions supported by HDMI (and other standard video interconnects). You will see them supported at 23.976, 24.000, 25, 29.97, 30.00, 50, 59.94, 60.00Hz (and the various 3D variations) - with some formats only supported at some frame rates.

However there are so many more resolutions of file out there - plus the ATSC and DVB resolutions that don't perfectly match these (704x576, 704x480, 544x576, 352x576, 1440x1080 etc. are standard resolutions) and all the cropped resolutions where letterbox or pillar boxed content has had the black content removed and the height or width reduced. You then have to process the content to get it to an HDMI standard resolution.

Doing this properly is a non-trivial task.

And if you want interlaced content output as interlaced and field-mapped it gets even more complex as you have to cope with both top-field and bottom-field first formats. You can get things VERY wrong if you output interlaced content with reverse field-dominance...
anybody can provide a 3d mkv file for us to test?
Mirror88,

Can you tell us something about netflix hd / 4k if supported?

It's 3D MVC video from the camera in the container .m2ts - 3Dcamcorder
Check, whether Zidoo box will define that it is a 3D stream

I'm also interested in this as a feature, as I like others have AV amps and/or projectors with highly capable video processing in them.
Just so I can understand better (and I'm in no way doubting your expertise in this area): Are you saying HDMI won't pass a video to consumer equipment unless it's one of the above resolutions, therefore has to be "massaged" into one of them before output ?
If that's the case, how do the players (listed above) manage it ?
