On an android tvbox when pressing left you get a menu with channels,recordings,etc... with up/down you can select what you want.
However on any other android touch screen without a remote when you tap on the slider the menu goes back when released so you have no chance to select anything. When you tap and carefully slide/tap you can maneuver to select an item but it's not what I'd call user friendly
