(2016-10-18, 23:02)BrandonFox Wrote: [ -> ]Is there a method to add a buffer time to the NHL.TV app? The quality is amazing using the app, much better than any other device I have used, however; during a game it seems every minute or so it pauses to buffer. It really seems to stop the flow of the game. It does not bother me if I am not FULLY live, a minute or two behind to avoid buffering would suffice.

I end up using the NHL gamecenter live app on my PS4 because it buffers much less, but rather will just degrade the quality at certain points to compensate. However, the overall quality is not as nice as the kodi NHL.TV app.

Thanks a bunch eh, looking forward to the replies... and please keep up the awesome work. I am so thankful for the app.

PS. I live in Canada, I saw a few posts mentioning that this may be the issue? If I use VPN to the states would this fix the issue? My internet connection is also not a hindrance.

I have the same issue. And my Xbox one is doing the same thing as your ps4 (degrades quality). Are you using yonder ? If not it might be a rogers/NHL site problem (I'm in Canada too). Or maybe its yonder that adds lag.

I am not using yonder, but am using my rogers account login. I wonder if this is the issue, or if it occurs for everyone regardless of location.

When using other apps on Kodi (ie. Exodus) there is a 50-100 MBA built in buffer. That would be amazing if something like that could be added to this. I realize it would put the game behind a few seconds or so from live, but at least we could watch it without buffer issues

As mentioned before, the alternative would be to have Adaptive quality where the quality degrades slightly during a hiccup to keep the pace even. Netflix does this well.

IIRC that's not possible in Kodi. The program is not build for that. Remember that most addons are build by Devs on their free time. Not by a huge company like Netflix Wink

I am so new to Kodi tv. I downloaded Kodi TV on my Amazon Fire Stick, and I downloaded and installed the My Repo file from ES on Amazon Fire Stick, but I don't know what to do from there. Can someone point me to a link on how to proceed from there to get NHL TV?

Thank you!
using the VPN to the states does not solve the buffer. I have kodi with the 10.28.2016 version of NHL TV and it still buffers. For now, I am using chromecast, it is quite good, 60fps as long as your wifi can handle it. I use a VPN if it is a blackout game.

Hopefully this the kodi issue is temporarily but it started happening in the last week or so.

Hey eracknaphobia thanks for the great work on this add-on. For some reason I can't update to 2016.10.18 From 2016.9.10. I see that recaps and extended highlights are working, am I missing anything in the new update? I've tried installing the update manually but keep getting the message "update failed".
I'm running on Windows 10 with the anniversary update and the windows 10 app kodi v17.0 beta 3 git 20161014.

The app updated to 2016.10.18 with no issues on my kodi 15.2 on my iPad and works fine as well.

Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Hi there,

Since upgrading tonight I can not launch the application.

I get some errors in the logs which I'll post the entirety of when i can, but here is the relevant snippet:

The app crashes when try to launch it.

All other apps work in Kodi and all other media plays.

Any help you can offer is appreciated!

Cheers,
Mike
Thanks for the addon mate. 2016.10.18 fixed my login issue. Quality is better than my cable provider! Cheers!
Thank you! Works awesome! I just wish I could start an in progress game at the beginning.
Has anyone else been having bad stuttering/buffering issues? Trying to figure out if the problem is on my end or theirs.

I am having stuttering/buffering issues too. It appears to be happening quite often, every minute or so. I still watch the games, but it definitely disrupts the flow of the game. Would love for this to be fixed (if possible).

I can say in confidence that it is not related to my internet connection either.

In Kodi goto System > Settings > Addons > Install from Zip file
From there you will need to locate the repo zip file and install it. Once the repo is installed select Install from repository and you should see my repo there now.

Check the change log in the first post for any changes that have occurred, but I would recommend updating to the latest and greatest.
Try uninstalling the addon (Addon-information > uninstall) and then try re-installing from the repo. Your settings should remain intact.
Hey Erack - thanks for the application - I appreciate all the great things you have done for getting us game centre on Kodi.

I found the issue with my problem.

The error: AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute '_base'

pointed me in the right direction.

There is a bug in beautifulsoup4 that doesn't work well with whatever the latest version of htmllib is. So i downgraded to 1.0b8 and all is well.

Thanks again!

Mike
I too have been having buffering issues.

I have tried NHL.tv direct feeds via Kodi through two other plugins and they all have been buffering like crazy, which leads me to believe its not because of this plugin in particular. NHL.tv works fine via the mobile app and browser and my connection is 320 mbit, so I'm also ruling out my connection. I tried a game through Kodi with this plugin and the same feed on my PC via VLC and the VLC feed hasn't buffered once while Kodi would not stop buffering. It's a shame because this plugin has been so great. It's definitely a Kodi-related issue.

I see the a lot of the following in my Kodi logs:

WARNING: CDVDMessageQueue(video)::Get - asked for new data packet, with nothing available
WARNING: CDVDMessageQueue(audio)::Get - asked for new data packet, with nothing available
