Thank you for sharing that MetalChris. Can you explain how this will allow me to get this repo to 'install from zip' on my MacBook? I downloaded the latest plugin.zip from your link (11.11.2016) and it too doesn't show up when i try to locate it in Kodi (same issue i've been having). Here's what i am doing:
Downloading Eracks's repo zip > opening Kodi > File Manager > Add source from zip > going to the file location where Erack's repo is saved > Nothing shows up.
/Users/{user_name}/Library/Application Support/Kodi/kodi.log
I'm thinking it's a Mac thing but i am not familiar enough with this OS to even know where to begin troubleshooting.
You can't install a zip file from file manager.
http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_add..._zip_files
These instructions apply to repo's as well
Thanks for the instructions Erack. I followed the Kodi how-to guide and the Zip file is visible (yay!) but i get the following error message;
Installing the Add-on from zip file located at /Users/fcontreras/Desktop/NHL.TV add-on/repository.eracknaphobia.zip failed due to an invalid structure.
I'm trying to figure out how i can get the log so i can post that as well.
EDIT: The plugin zip installed just fine and it included the file! I am not sure whey it wasn't working before.... but it is now. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND PATIENCE! Sorry for being a dingus.

You're welcome.
Have you tried re-downloading the repo-zip file from the first post? It should be a valid zip file. If not there is a Program addon that will allow you to upload log files easily.
Programs > Get More > Kodi Logfile Uploader
http://addons.kodi.tv/show/script.kodi.loguploader/
Just paste the link here and we can take a look.
EDIT: Just saw you updated your post, good to hear you got it working.
Hi all,
First of all thanks for this add on!
Quick question I'm attempting to use the KODI app on my phone to stream this to my TV with a Google Chromecast using the Local Cast software which works like a charm for other video add one.
However when I attempted to do so with this app I get the error message that this stream link is either broken or I have codecs missing.
Does anyone have advice on this?

This is the method I used by the way to get KODI working from my phone to my TV casting via Google Chromecast, thanks in advance!

This is probably why it's not working:
Note that not all sources will work using this method as some source providers include metadata in the stream URL which LocalCast will not be able to interpret (constant loading or connecting message).
These streams include cookie and user-agent info in the stream url.

Ah, so basically SOL then hey?
For the first time ever, I'm getting an error saying the game I want to watch is blacked out. I normally watch my local team in the same city, never got an error. Today, I'm 200KM away from my local team and now I get the error? If anything, it should be the other way around...
Has this always been the case or has something changed?

This addon follows the same blackout practices as the official app which determines what games will be blacked out (locally or nationally) based off you IP's geo location. This has not changed since the initial release.
Are you using a VPN or DNS proxy that may be giving you an alternate geolocation?
Thank you for confirming this add on follows the same blackout restrictions as the official app. When I watch at home, I either watch through the official NHL app, or this add-on, all through my Minix U1 Android TV box.
When I launch a game within the official app, I get error "NHL is having a hard time determining your location" and then seconds later it automatically starts the feed. This, without a VPN or odd DNS settings. So I guess anything coming from my Minix U1 cannot determine my location which is a plus!
Today, I'm on the road with my Macbook accessing this add-on and getting the blackout error. I still find it odd because I'm not within the same region.
Also, when I first tested this add-on at home it was through my Macbook and I did not get the error but it's possible it was a national feed.
I have a raspberry pi running kodi. Is there any way to stream the game to another device like an Xbox One?
XB1 has an official NHL.tv app. Can you not use that?
Hey eracknaphobia,
your addon was working fine for me on a 2015 Philips Android TV (48PUS7600/12) with Kodi 16. About 1/2 year ago I tried Kodi 17 Beta. Never got it working there. Same issue as stated below. Then I switched back to Kodi 16 and here's the issue:
After installing your repo from zip when I select "Install from repository" and do select your repo I get the error message "Could not connect to repository". Looking at the log it's something about a fail while parsing the "addon.xml". Here's the log-url:
https://paste.ubuntu.com/23716349/
I tried uninstalling your repo and reinstalling it several times. Just downloaded the newest version from post 1 again today - still the same.
I'm using the "timewasted"-NHL addon now, but I'd prefer to get your addon working again. Any ideas?
Edit 161231 11:31:
I just found out that your NHL.TV addon is listed in the Kodi repository. Enabling it there got it working all of a sudden. This was not possible in the past, right? It was supposed to work the way mentioned above, wasn't it?
Yeah, I just had it added to the Official kodi repo. I'll take a look at my repo, i've made a bunch of changes the last couple of days maybe something is a bit off.
@eracknaphopia - I just noticed that you are now listed as a Team-Kodi member - Congrats!
As we close out 2016, I just wanted to again say Thank You for all the hard work that you have put in on both the NHL.TV and MLB.TV add-ons.
New year is starting off bad: Errors on opening any games. Same with the NHL Gamecenter Live (timewasted) add on. Here's a "certificate verify failed" error popup. Maybe the same with your addon, eracknaphobia?

So is the Mlb.tv add-on in the official kodi repo as well? Thanks and congrats on this.
