Im using Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela and Kodi 15.2 Git:02e7013 on a laptop with an external monitor connected using HDMI, configured as the primary, both running in full hd (1920x1080p)

When running Kodi on my laptop monitor (eDP1) then Kodi (or at least the window) spans a little bit further onto the my secondary monitor leaving a "dead" area in the right side of the screen, except for the bottom panel.

When I minimize the Kodi window, the dead area disappears

I have taken a bunch of screenshot to help explain my problem:

Here is a screenshot of my entire "desktop", with the "dead" area right of the Kodi window and left of the Gedit window

Here you can see a maximized Gedit Window with the "dead" area in the left side (HDMI1)

And here is the Kodi side (eDP1)
Use the 'Video Calibration' function in your System Settings - Video Output to size your Kodi screen area. When you enter the calibration screen you might not see the angular markers at first if your Kodi screen area is bigger than your physical desktop area so use the arrow keys until they appear. There should be angular markers on the upper left corner and lower right corner of your Kodi screen area.

The video calibration didn't help. The dead area on my right screen (the HDMI PC monitor) the dead area is still there.

And Kodi overscanning values are 0,0 on both sides and i fits perfectly.
The issue is probably with your desktop settings, not Kodi. If you set your Kodi video screen resolution to 1080x1920 then it should not spill-over to your over display if both your displays are 1080x1920. Your virtual desktop settings are possibly set to a smaller desktop area for your displays, so the Kodi screen spills over to your other display. Check your primary display desktop area is not set to 1440 instead of 1920 ... 1440 is a common default desktop width setting.
Both screens is running 1920x1080

If i change the resolution inside kodi to a lower resolution, the dead area does indeed disappears from the right screen HDMI1 which is the primary
