I have perfect wired ethernet to the box. Never have issues with other .mkv's that are about 25 GB...this one is barely 11.5 GB and is giving a huge issue - some scenes of the video LAG behind the audio..then somewhere down the line (it may or may not) suddenly speed up..and catch up.

This happens on all 2 of my Fire TV devices on 2 different TV Screens...

Trying Kodi V 14.2 on my iPad - the file works flawlessly (wtf) - wi-fi connection shows the video better on an IOS device?!?! Uhm...

Same on my PC. The only difference is...the PC and iPad use different hardware accelration codes...or tools.. (ios VIDEOTOOLBOX, PC DXVA2 something).

I'm guessing this is a known issue with some mkv files for Amazon Fire TV / Android based ARM devices? Or I could be entirely wrong. This is most definitely NOT a buffering / bandwidth issue. I can confirm that for sure since the file plays fine on the iPad with its weaker signal.

Update...turns out I ended up playing another file...that used to play perfectly (HD) and it started lagging/stuttering bad. After a lot of searching and a bit of luck and a reboot (thank you Ned!) - it worked perfectly fine. All is well again.

NOTICE to a lot of people if your Fire TV stays on...reboot it time to time. It really affects that hardware! In fact always try putting the device to SLEEP (Not sure if this helps but...reboot definitely did)
