hi guys

i have an HTPC with KODI just installed, my issue is that when i stream the movies to my parents smart TV (not to the one that KODI is directly plugged in via HDMI) it will not load the srt subs files...is there any way i can make it work?

my tv is a Sony KDL 55W805A 2013 model

Realistically this sounds like a hardware issue i.e. your parents' tv can't handle srt. You should look at the manual or forums for that tv. What is your parents' tv? Can you put your media and sub file on a usb and get the subs to show?

Is this a UPnP connection? Wasn't there a known bug with subtitles over UPnP?
