Why use a pre-defined keyboard.xml?
I think it would be much easier just using the default keymap and then re-assign the keys you want changed through the keymap addon you can find in the Kodi repo?
Much less surprises if you ask me..

Do you mean the Keymap editor?
I actually need to completely remove the default keybinding.
like... for instance "O" is keybound to Codex Info. I have another controller that has a Keybound "O"
What version of Kodi are you using it with? Normally the keymaps don't go through major changes between Kodi versions, but I think this time the bleeding edge keymap (master) might not work on v15.
