I am trying to get Kodi setup like it shows in the About on the Kodi.tv site under movies, I would like for it to show the movie poster just like in the picture, what do I have to change or download to make this happen. Sorry, I am new to Kodi and just learning.

at the top it shows recently added movies. if you haven't scanned your movies to the library yet:

at the bottom, you can add shortcuts to addons you've installed in kodi.
- install some addons: http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on_manager
- add them to the homescreen: http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Confluence/..._shortcuts

What addon would give me the movie poster view at the main screen?

Those are "recently added movies", so to get them, you have to add movies to your library as explained by ronie.
