I have Raspbian Jessie and can run Kodi fine when connected with HDMI. However, if I remote in with rdp, I run Raspbian and can execute the command for Kodi fine, but it doesn't appear on my screen. I check task manager and it shows it is running. Is it possible to run Kodi remotely? I saw that someone else recently had a similar problem with VNC.

Which screen are you hoping to see Kodi on when you use rdp?

Just the normal Kodi interface which I do see when I run it with an HDMI connection.

Kodi doesn't render through X to remote desktop won't work.
You can use the dispmanx VNC server but you need to expect laggy gui and video.
