Hi there, I've just purchesed a new SD for my Android box which is running Kodi, I cannot see it in the file system. I can see my USB sticks when I plug them in and thought I would see the SD card in a similar way. Any help would be appreciated.

Is it formatted and what size and which Android box?
go ask the support of your "android box" manufacturer
If you go to the files option under the videos menu item it should be there as "extSDCard" if it's working like normal Android. If it's not there, as @
Hannes suggests your best bet is to talk to your box's seller or manufacturer.
