I was given a mxq box for xmas but when ever I try and put any film or tv programs on it keeps saying script error.

If this is using anything from our banned add-ons (wiki) list then you are using pirate sources which are against our forum rules (wiki) and are not supported. Ask the supplier of your box for support, as they are violating the Kodi Foundation terms of service by supplying pre-installed add-ons, especially piracy ones.

If the shows or films are locally stored media or from a legitimate source like YouTube then please gather and upload a debug log (wiki).
