http://code.google.com/p/xot-uzg/source/checkout , would the developer be willing to make a read-only version available? I like to compile my own builds with the latest versions of all skins, scripts & plugins

I am in the process of adding new Spanish channels to my xbmc, and XOT-UZG is the best starting point i can imagine. You have done a great work
The result is released as a new plugin, still in development. I'm not a python coder but have some ideas about the user interface i need for the plugin.

Nice to hear ppl are using XOT. The best thing to do is just use XOT version 3.20b2 and add your own channel. Don't edit other files, that way, all updates for future versions will most likely not break your channel.
If the channel works, let me know. I can host it on my googlecode site and add it to the default XOT releases.

Could you post a uzg.log file on pastebin.ca? So I can see what the problem is.

the channels Nederland 1 ,Nederland 2,Nederland 3 and Uitzendinggemist
i thought it was a normal problem,cause of site change .
So log isn't necessary .

Well, it is still working here. So a log is needed.
Today i installed xbmc on my dust collecting xbox and installed your plugin after hearing how good it was from a friend. And indeed it is awesome! thx for that. I have one problem tho, RTL isnt working, i can browse but i can get the programs to work. This is the error from the log im getting

it works again.
i think it was because i had another xbmc version
on my xbox that wasn't update yet.
that was somehow conflicting with the one i normally use.

Correct. The RTL channel broke 2 days ago. You can download the update via the auto update manager in XOT (from the Context menu from the channel overview).

I have downloaded the latest version of XOT-UZG, and i have seen the license change and the reason you describe on your website.
This post is to notify you that latest updates of my script have removed the auto-update feature (since the day you asked it), and the rest of the changes are not ready but will be inserted in the next release.
I think that names and txt files were not really important, but reading your website it is clear that i am wrong. It was not my intention to create you any problem, but to add more features to xbmc scene quickly.
Note that i disagree with some of your statements, but you have all the right for being upset.

In the next release of the XOT-Framework I changed the update feature so that it will not look for any updates if the URL is left empty in the config. That way, you won't need to edit any files.
Although you might not agree, I do want to point out to you, that from version 3.2.0b3 and above, the license does not allow you to publish any modified version of the framework files (those with the notice in the top of the files). That means that you should either
- use the framework as is and configure it using the config.py file. Of course we could also discuss including requests/patches you provide us.
- or that you will need the approval of the XOT team to publish a custom version.
- or you continue working from the v3.2.0b2 and create your own modified version, under the GPLv3 license of course just as the original v3.2.0b2, that does not hold the same name and you mention that the base was taken from XOT but that you continued working on separately on the script.
And, as I mentioned before, we encourage ppl to use option 1.
I think i will continue with option 3.
