Sorry your post is confusing - you appeared to be saying you did not know if kszaq build worked with the MINI MXIII which was the 'new' box Huh
Their latest S905 product is indeed the MINI MXIII with specs you suggest - http://www.bee-link.com/Beelink-MiniPC-TV-BOX-40-1.html
The new S912 product is the GT1 - http://www.bee-link.com/Beelink-MiniPC-TV-BOX-54-1.html

Maybe you have the Mini MX (S905) which has 1G Ram/8G ROM/2.4G but that one was NOT designated MXIII
However there was MXIII-Plus and MXIII-G, both of which were S812 machines

Yes, their naming series is all very similar & confusing!

If you stick 'Beelink MINI MXIII II s905x' in google you'll find links to the s905x box jebise is talking about. I'm not posting links here for the obvious reason.

Exactly it's the Beelink Mini MXIII II.

@DEcosse notice the extra II at the end of my post. Thats why i said there naming is confusing as hell.
@DEcosse

Sorry, I was reading too much into your post before. I was making assumptions that weren't accurate. My bad.

I do not have any problem finding listings with the II at the end (although Beelink site itself does not use this extra suffix) - again let me point to their product site - http://www.bee-link.com/Beelink-MiniPC-TV-BOX-40-1.html

When I review "unboxings" of the latest 2G/16G products I see NO II suffix designation on the Beelink packaging box, nor on the box itself, either on the top of the case or on the label on the under-side.

What I am having difficulty finding is a MiniMxIII that has any capability other than the current version (II if you want to call it that) with 2G/16G - and that has been available since about April
All I can find in searches in S905 with similar name is the MiniMX (no III designation) - S905 1G/8G

But if you say you have a MiniMXIII with lesser specs, who am I am to argue and I bow to your personal experience with your product.

What is appropriate to your original question is, if you look on the LE forum, you can find that kszaq build HAS been used on the 2G/16G variant.
@DEcosse...
Not sure what you're saying.
I have a minimxiii.
Search and there's a minimxiii ii as well - that has marshmallow rather than lollipop, and s905x rather than s905. It's a different box.
The Beelink site is a red herring - when I bought my minimxiii it wasn't on that site, and didn't appear there for at least a month.

+1 Excatly

You can find it on GB.
Fair enough - as I already said in my last post I certainly can't argue with you guys who actually have this.

For sure we ALL agree their naming convention leaves a LOT to be desired! Big Grin
Minimx, minimx v1, minimxiii all these variants are owned by many people they're good little boxes with decent build quality. Both Alex and kszaq own a minimx. So if your unsure which budget box to go for , the beelink mini mx is your best bet. It runs very well with kszaqs libre elec builds.
Cant go wrong with the higher spec model 2g Ram, 16g emmc, s905, dual band Wi-Fi at around 30 dollars .

Interesting, will Beelink provide an update to the OS on the Beelink Mini MX111 to Android 6?

I highly doubt it, from what I have seen the Beelink devices get something like 2 - 3 OTA firmware updates when they are first launched then nothing following on from that. MinIMX got 105L, 106L and 107L firmwares nothing after that, they didnt seem to add any kodi specific features. But the good news is from what I've seen is the Android build is pretty stable on the beelink devices. Saying that the early MiniMX devices were not even Beelink branded by'n is a plain device wth MiniMX stamped on the case. the MiniMX III was the first device to appear with beelink branding.

For the best Kodi experience your better off using LibreElec builds, personally I have Android on the NAND and I LibreElec Kszaq build on SD card, so i can choose which OS to boot up into Dual Boot in other words. So again these budget devices might not be for everyone, if your not capable or not willing to do a litttle bit of research and doing a bit of very basic technical work like being able to copy files using SAMBA shares, copying files to SD card etc, then maybe these devices may not be suitable for you. The OpenElec and LibreElec Kodi builds these devices are reliant on a couple of devs who put out their own time and effort to making the builds notably Alex at amlinuxmedia and Kszaq at LibreElec forums, theres also builds appearing on Freaktab which are ported from other manufacturers boxes Minix and Tronsmart for example.

It might even be that your needs are so basic that you can use the Android OS that comes preinstalled on the boxes and install Kodi or the android optimised fork by Koying SPMC directly from Google Play. Kodi is preintstalled on these boxes but it's not the latest version so it's better to install the latest version from Google Play.

Thanks for excellent response.

I have the Beelink Mini MXlll and I am very pleased with the performance. As you suggested I immediately deleted the Kodi it came with and installed from the play store.

Is there a reason why most if not all Android TV box suppliers do not upgrade the Android OS??

Unlike my phone for example which has had two OTA Android OS upgrades with no problems.
(2016-09-12, 09:54)Jeffers24 Wrote: [ -> ]Is there a reason why most if not all Android TV box suppliers do not upgrade the Android OS??

Yes. Once they ship a box they appear to stop spending any time or effort developing for it and are already working on the next one. I imagine many of the no-name manufacturers don't see the point in providing upgrades to a device they've already sold and which will generate no income for them.

I suspect your Android phone comes from a well respected brand like Samsung, Sony etc. and may have been bought via a carrier who get continued income from you, so the situation is a bit different.

You'll notice that some companies - nVidia, Wetek, Google etc. DO provide continued support and update for their Android boxes... These are companies that invest in supporting their customers.
