So,I know that v17 is in it's early phases, but having a few minutes on my hands I decided to give the Krypton test build a try (kodi-20160112-61e14b1-master-armeabi-v7a.apk) on my SATV and found that vids with Atmos tracks were pretty much unplayable.

The audio would cut out (mostly out) and the video would drop frames.

Only settings that aren't default:

Adjust frame rate: on start/stop
Speaker channels: 5.1
Pass-through and all supported pass-through options selected.

Test file: http://www.mediafire.com/watch/375fdip5o...s_test.mkv

Debug log: http://xbmclogs.com/p2tixjyd7

This is pretty much the same thing that was happening with Koying's earlier PT test builds.

Also, with DTS tracks if I jumped the Chapter foward the audio/video would go out of sync, skipping back would put the audio back in sync. I don't have a debug log for this, but can get one if needed.

fritsch has been working on some test builds to fix PT issues.

How to help:

  1. Say if this was also an issue in regular builds or not.
  2. A debug log (wiki)
  3. The build date (in the download URL or in system info on Kodi)
  4. Details about your system (OS version, hardware specs, etc)
  5. Steps needed to reproduce the issue (play a movie, go to a file list, use an add-on, etc)
  6. The more details, the better.

UPDATE:

Use nightly builds for testing: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/nightlies/android/arm/

Kudos for testing and providing logs, good man. Provide everything you can and the devs can fix quicker. Smile
Just tried the v17 build from today and had the problems with TrueHD tracks that Evanesco mentioned.

Just another short question, how am I able to quick test the v17 alpha and then rollback to the 29nd build of december? Because if I try to install it over the v17 version it says it's older than the installed version. When I try to install it nevertheless, it just aborts.

If I uninstall Kodi and install the 29nd build again I have to do all settings again :/
(2016-01-19, 18:03)fritsch Wrote: [ -> ]No it's not. It's broken as hell and needs heavy fixing.

I hope that was clear :-)

Edit: Most of the stuff is in place, but fine tuning, fixing of calculations, adding more TrueHD packages at once is needed. Basically if the time invested into this "argueing" would have been invested into the code, everything would be perfect already and Android had PT of all formats with perfect™ sync.

Edit: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master...h.cpp#L113 <- TrueHD is already assembled, that why i scratched above.

You still want me to try those others formats and provide a log? dts eac3 etc?
Nope - just building a test build - let's see if that already fixes TrueHD.

I'm assuming that was directed at me? Couldn't tell without a quote. Wink

Jep, exactly.

Edit: Will hopefully land in our testing builds folder: http://jenkins.kodi.tv/job/Android-ARM/6695/ - let's find some typos.

Missed the thread Wink
Yeah, makes sense as the v17 work was based on the v16 work pre-public testing, which has evolved quite a bit based on feedback.
Here, my dear TrueHD Testers, can you try: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk

Thanks much in advance
It's currently giving a 404, probably need to wait a bit.

Yes - depending on your location the mirror has not yet synced.
Yeah, edited my post since I figured that's what's going on.

EDIT: It's up now!

I'll test it right away
Yep, it got buried. Sad I started to bump, but I wasn't sure if anyone cared at this point in development.

And I haven't noticed any changes in master yet (that I could see) so I didn't see much point in testing any further.
Sorry, but this d3a12c3 test build is "completely" broke. Playback is not even starting, just black screen.

Testing with the San Andreas Atmos clip:

Before restart of NSTV:
http://xbmclogs.com/pcgshk79f
gui sounds distorted as well after testing the San Andreas Atmos clip.

After restart of NSTV:
http://xbmclogs.com/pvzmitj4u

Tried other clips as well, also one with DTS-HD MA, nothing, no playback.

Hope the logs are useful.
