Full Version: Nexus Player (Aus Live TV) 1080i AVC issue - cant seek with HW accel

When trying to play back a certain Australian Live TV channel (9HD) on my Nexus player, if any hardware acceleration is turned on the video plays smoothly however I am unable to seek at all (eg skip back 10 seconds). If I do so the audio continues to play but the video shows the same frame as where I tried to skip from.

When hardware acceleration is disabled I can seek however the video playback is choppy and CPU use high. I recorded a small sample and was able to reproduce the same when playing back from a USB drive on the NP so can eliminate any network issue as the cause.

I have uploaded my Log(too big for pastebin)and a 30mb Video sample here:https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0...sp=sharing

Please let me know if I can provide anything further
Maybe try going into OSD - Video Settings and switching Deinterlacing from Auto to ON:

9HD is a Interlaced H264 TV broadcast, its probable that the Nexus cannot handle deinterlacing and decoding H264 content at the same time.
Yeah I've had to turn de-interlacing ON on all live channels and manually select Bob or Bob Inverted to get them to look right. Once I get it turned on the stream looks fine and plays back well, including 9HD. I just can't skip in 9HD without the picture freezing. The GUI remains responsive and the audio keeps playing. Just the video stops.. Very odd.
Sounds like an issue with GPU acceleration...I see your running 16rc...while it probably does, have you tried 15 release?
I've tried 15.2, SPMC 15.0 and 16rc1 x86 and ARM versions. Same issue across all 4
