Currently using Kodi 15.2 on an imac with el capitan but the same problem happened in Mavericks and earlier versions of Kodi. If you drop Kodi down into the dock for any length of time the whole computer freezes in that you cannot access or find the cursor. The only solution seems to be to restart the computer. If dropped into the dock temporarily then you can get out by a force quit of Kodi.
