I have a ready image of KODIBuntu (latest) and likely will try it out if: I cannot get KODI running on my current distro, openSUSE 13.2. I have found this OS to be the absolute best for me, and hope I can use it, but if not, I'll try another machine for the KODIBuntu. I am seeking any info for getting this app to run on my OS.

tell us which hardware you are using. The GPU is most important.

On Suse Leap Kodi works just fine.
Which repository did you install it from?
What kind GPU you have plus some more info would be helpful. For example what you get when you try to start Kodi from the terminal.
