according to xboxscene, the infectus chip will allow full ps3 bios flashing.

to me this is welcome news for that necessary extra punch needed in processor and gpu for xbmc hd support.

Yes no one xbmc would have to be ported to either linux or run of the ps3 os. Even without this there should be enough power in the 6 SPEs if something was programmed right to thread over the SPEs we would have hd content and better playback. If this is infect true we would also get access to the RSX wich is the gpu per say and can do more 3d acceleration.
