Hello, what video player does Kodi use when playing Live Tv? on windows will it help quality if I change it or update codecs, etc.. ? Thx
It uses ffmpeg, so there isn't anything you can do. There is, however, a fork of Kodi which is kept pretty much current and replaces the Kodi player with a direct show player (DSPlayer). That fork does allow for windows DS filters and can also run MadVR as the renderer. AFAIK that's for all video, including live tv.

If I install the K-Lite codec pack, it has updated ffmpeg and allows to set it as defaults instead of LAV. I currently have LAV as the defaults for encoding because it was the default. Should I change this back to ffmpeg?
Kodi uses internal player and whatever you install it has absolutely zero effect
