Hi all, new here, but certainly not new to technical forums Wink
My name is John and I live in the middle of the UK.
I use Linux mint rather than Windows.

Here in the UK, we can watch all of the "mainstream" TV stations online, direct from there own websites. This includes the following :- The BBC, Channel4, ITV and Channel5. I would like to know if there is a correct (and legal) way to watch these channels using Kodi on my laptop.

Note, I can currently push video from my (Linux) laptop to my TV, but my question here relates solely to watching the above channels on the laptop only (because those channels are already available on the TV)
I should mention, I do not wish to do this through the normal web browser because of current technical issues with Linux and Flash Player and Silverlight.

Also note, I have seen some of the dodgy plugins, and I do not wish or intend to go down that route!!
There is an add-on for the BBC iplayer -> http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=239378

There used to be a 4OD add-on but it no longer works due to channel 4 changing stuff. There is an ITV hub player apparently, but it's not in the official repository ad I've never tried it to see if it works or not. If it does, it wouldn't fall into a banned add-on category as all ITV channels are free anyway. I don't recall seeing an add-on for channel 5 ever, but I might well be wrong!
Not sure if it still works, but there used to be a kodi addon for tvcatchup with the mainstream uk channels on it. A quick Google shows this might still work:

Yes this works, Only SD streams but works very well.
SOLVED

So pleased with this Smile

Took me a while to get rid of a "dependencies not met" error. Yes, in my excitement I did not read properly the first paragraph on the very first post underneath "Download and Install" Blush

So I now have all the mainstream UK TV channels and I have also installed the BBC iplayer plugin, so I have lots of "catch up" opportunities there too Smile

Thank you very much to you all Smile
