After upgrading from Kodi 15 to Kodi 16 all music visualizations have disappeared. I was originally using the Eminence theme. Going to Settings -> Music Settings -> Playback -> visualizations shows 'NONE' and there are no visualizations to select. I have tried multiple themes including the default Confluence. How can I get the visualizations back?

I am on Arch Linux, kodi 16.0-2, projectM 2.1.0-13 , projectm-libvisual 2.1.0-13, projectm-pulseaudio 2.1.0-13

The same thing is happening on my Manjaro systems as well. I don't see anything in the changelogs to indicate the removal of all visualizations.
Ask your arch maintainer - they package it for you.

If you build from source, you need to compile those binary addons manually, too.
having the same problem after updating from Kodi 15.2 to 16 Undecided

I'm using fritsch's DIY - Kodibuntu 15.10 for intel GPU

even did a complete fresh install... still the same thing. Sad
:-( doesn't help and :-( :-( also does not help

Providing logfiles, mentioning the version you are running, e.g. ppa or selfbuild will help.
Hi,
I had the same problem... But finally, yesterday I found the solution, but I don't remember where I found it... Big Grin
It seems that for an installation error, the music visualization addons were put into "/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/addons". Just copy or move them to "/usr/lib/kody/addons" and restart Kodi.

That should read /usr/lib/kodi/addons (note that it is spelled kodi, not kody)

You probably found it here: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2255362

Will do. I wasn't sure if this issue is isolated to Arch or perhaps changes were made to Kodi itself.

And for reference:
ls /usr/lib/kodi/addons
library.kodi.adsp library.kodi.audioengine library.kodi.guilib library.xbmc.addon library.xbmc.codec library.xbmc.pvr
