I see there's an option to play highlights for old games. Any chance you can add another menu item to play the truncated game? It usually runs 15-20 mins and used to be free on mlb.mlb.com. Hope they are still there!
Yes, I was going to release an update yesterday but I ran into a little snag. I should have it fixed in the next day or two.
WHOOT! Thanks!
I use the "Unlocator" DNS service through to get around blackout restrictions which is setup on my router and works fine for the MLB.tv app on my XBone, my desktop computer, and my HTPC when using the browser, however when using this addon it fails to play the "local" team and in the log it shows it is due to blackout restrictions.
What is going on with this addon that it bypasses the unlocator DNS service and is there any way to fix that? I really don't like having to go through a proxy and add a potential bottleneck in the connection line, especially when this service has worked great with every other browser and app on my network, including the old MLBMC addon.
Regardless, I love the addon, just wish I could play my "local" team without having to switch over to my XBone. :-(

I noticed the same thing too. Then I looked through the source code to see that the addon uses PS4 user agents and mimmicks the PS4 app. Unlocator needs to add the following domain assuming they have accounted for the other mlb domains. This fixed my issue.
Code:
mlb-ws-mf.media.mlb.com

eracknaphobia , I noticed a status api request going to nhl.com Is that a typo?
Just wondering if anyone has this app working on OpenELEC? If so, what did you do?
It works fine for me on Windows Kodi, but it won't work on OpenELEC on RPI2 or x64.
Both give the same error, see post #205, don't want to post it again as it's long.
Just set this add-on up in my Kodi install (on Fire TV) today and it worked great! Thanks eracknaphobia for putting together a working add-on. Now I don't have to mess with that terrible MLB.TV-for-Fire-TV app any more.

I think I have always wanted to ask but keep forgetting. The stream via browser seems to be 15-20 seconds ahead of the addon. What could be the potential reason(s) for this?
Possibly because the broswer version starts at the lowest quality and works it's way up to a stream it can handle, where here we start with the best stream right off the bat.
But the stream does start right away and there is no buffering indication at the beginning of the best stream with high speed connections. I am wondering if it is the time taken manually to select a particular stream (Home/Away etc).
Could there be a setting to test this theory? Just like Automatically launch best stream, we could select automatically launch "Home Video" /"Away Video"/"Home Audio" etc ?

I have a little more info, it seems I can view any of the highlights from archived games, but not any live games, I get the error as in post#205, don't know if this helps.
I'm having similar problems on OpeneELEC on a Raspberry Pi 3 (I've tried all trouble shooting suggested earlier in this thread.) Full debug logs can be found here:
http://xbmclogs.com/pfiszyvau Hopefully someone can grep something of use out of them.

Awesome thanks for the info, I've sent unlocator a support request and hoping they add that domain.

Marry me.
Hello!
I'm still giving this addon a try, because the older one "mlbmc" doesn't work anymore on my device... :-(
But I also can't get to work mlb.tv...
Here's the log, I hope so much it helps...:

What don't you like about the FireTV/AndroidTV app? I love it. Sadly I can't get around blackouts with it like I can the kodi add-on and regular Android app.
This add-on is great though.

Looks like you are using an old version of Kodi and the Python Image Library (PIL or modern Pillow) is missing. Might want to try to upgrade to Jarvis or look at the instructions here to install the missing dependency
