First and foremost thank you,
eracknaphobia, thank you for doing this for us, I have other ways to view MLB but truthfully prefer using Kodi. I thank you very very much.
An update (testing with Asus Chromebox, latest updated OpenElec) was only able to view today's afternoon game by selecting (away) HOME was not available, logged off and back on and was able to start home, but this quickly fast forwarded and then kicked me out.
Now using my PC I did a fresh installed and ONLY installed your Repo, added my credentials (email & password) I have a full subscription., I am able to select either Home or Away no fast forward motion (no skips) watched an inning of both teams feed. I will re test tomorrow to see if anything changed.
Followup post 2016.4.12, with 600mb kodi video cache (NB, I increased this to 1200mb and have left it there as satisfactory for now).
All bitrates are available. 5000bps loads successfully and immediately buffers for a second or two, 1280x720, 59.940fps 'vq' starts at around 50% and drops after one minute, when buffering happens again. After several minutes 'aq' has dropped to zero and audio is gone. vq hovers between 0-27% and cpu is pinned at 107%. buffering does not recur after one minute.
It should be noted that despite the loss of audio sync the video playback remained watchable - there were no long slomo moments, encoding static, or extended freezes. the playback was quite stuttery, but generally less than one short freeze every five seconds - more than enough to create terrible audio drift, but no more irritating otherwise than watching the feed via browser.
Rather than step through lower bitrates, I increased the video cache setting again to 1200mb and quit and relaunched Kodi, accessing the live feed at 5000bps again.
Similar results at 5000bps even with 1200mb cache.
Stepping down to 3500bps, 1280x720 plays smoothly with no interruptions until 2:24. cpu at 14%, vq at 50-90%, cpu pins for a second as vq hits 10% but playback recovers and appears to stabilize.
I suppose the needed cache size can be calculated based on bitrate; at 5000bps the overlay reporting fluctuates between 5 and 3 Mbps, and at 3500 it fluctuates between 3.5 Mbps and 3.07.
So at 3500bps 60 seconds of cache is roughly 210mb and at 5000 it's roughly 300mb - so if I need more than five minutes of buffer at 5000bps 1200mb is insufficient but it appears to be for 3500bps. Just speculation, of course and ymmv. But very clearly, increasing the video cache resolves most of my playback issues.
Thanks again, and hope this helps!

Confirmed, at least tentatively. I picked the 1800 kbps stream and I'm getting 29.97 fps and around 1.5 Mb/s (with occasional spikes as high as 2.0).
Many thanks!
I have gone through multiple pages and can't figure this out.
I have downloaded eracknaphobia's repo V. 1.0.0 from page 1 of this thread. I installed it to a USB and installed from .zip on Kodi.
Then I installed MLB.TV from eracknaphobia;s repo.
I go into MLB.TV and i need to enter today's date in order to see today's games.
Once i have done that, I am able to see all of Today's games however none of the links work.
I am able to watch yesterdays condensed games but am not able to watch todays MLB games.
What am I missing? an update? I am relatively new to Kodi and android boxes so any help would be appreciated.

This is the problem: no stream url, no cookie. That is why I had you check your credentials, you are not getting logged in it appears. There is also a lot of other questionable addons / repos running and throwing errors in your log. I would suggest trying a fresh install of kodi on a PC if you are able. If the addon doesn't work on a fresh install then we can say this is a problem on my end.
Can you please help with this error before 7Pm?

Did you enter your MLB.tv credentials on the configuration screen?
Has anyone else noticed, that during the typical centerfield camera shots of the pitcher and batter, light-skinned batters' faces often look almost completely blurred?
Maybe I never sat close enough before to notice, but I don't remember this while watching on tv.

Pursuant to post
http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2308588
I first checked for an update, none was reported (I assume the 2016.4.12 just hadn't propagated, I did not force-refresh the repository locally). Before my next post here I will update to 2016.4.12.
I performed the suggested edit to main.py in 2016.4.11, and it resolved the issue with regard to stuttering and performance to a degree, strictly according to bitrate settings. I invoked "always ask" and went through the settings to locate the most stable stream.
First, in live Pirates game available now, no 5400bps stream was available. Playback stabilized at 1200bps. All of the streams rendered at 29.970 fps.
Details follow:
3500bps: stream loads and immediately stutters, 1280x720. In framerate overlay, value 'vq' instantiates at 10% and drops to zero. the last line of the overlay is labeled "W" and contains a value 'cpu'; when 'vq' is at 10% or less this value climbs rapidly and fluctuates between 80% and 103%. Playback never improves.
2500bps: stream loads and immediately stutters, 960x540.
1800bps: stream loads and begins to fail at 2:24 of playback time, 896x504. In framerate overlay, value 'vq' instantiates at approximately 50% and holds steady until just after 2:15, when it drops to zero. the last line of the overlay is labeled "W" and contains a value 'cpu'; when 'vq' is at 10% or less this value climbs rapidly and fluctuates between 80% and 103%. After the 2.5 minute mark, occasionally a "buffering" notice appears top right but playback never improves.
NB: this setting appears to most closely approximate the prior settings that were successful under mlbmc on my rig last season; as noted previously, early in the year playback was problematic in a similar manner but resolved by increasing some sort of cache or buffer setting - my next research task is to locate what I did and share that here. I am aware of the ongoing discussion in this thread which seems to suggest that local temp file management is not applicable to this year's streams.
1200bps: stream loads and does not appear to fail in relatively short under five minute tests, 640x360. In framerate overlay, value 'vq' instantiates at approximately 100% and holds steady. 'cpu' holds steady at 0%. This is perfectly acceptable but definitely lower resolution than average resolution obtained via in-browser playback on mlb.tv. The primary advantage to this stream is avoidance of the slipstream video ads presented on mlb.tv.
Physical display is a 42" Sony LED at 1080p.
Thanks again for all your hard work, I hope this is of value.
(UPDATE: found the video cache thing.
http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid1980365
tl;dr: I used advancedsettings.xml to increase the xmbc-wide video cache setting to 300mb. will investigate to see if kodi kept that setting at install and so forth.
UPDATE 2: advancedsettings.xml came over properly. doubled it to 600mb.)
Yes! That is is exactly what I was looking for. I could not remember how this was done and hadn't had time to research it yet.
I have have watched 2 flawless games at 5000kbs so far using the following in my advancedsettings.xml:
<network>
<buffermode>2</buffermode>
<cachemembuffersize>157286400</cachemembuffersize>
<readbufferfactor>20</readbufferfactor>
</network>
I cannot of course at this point eliminate MLB getting the bugs worked out which we always seems to see at the beginning of the season.
These settings may me over kill for some though. I have the RAM and CPU to support them. CPU load is minimal 1% or so. 10Mb cable modem also.
I haven't tried 2016.4.12 without these settings yet. Which I will do and report back.

Confirmed again. New single-team settings are working perfectly, at 5000K, live games and full game replays. Beers coming your way @
eracknaphobia. The update button in Kodi wasn't working to get me from .11 to .12 but that could because I manually edited main.py. I uninstalled and reinstalled and am good to go.
Can someone please help me?

Using an mlb.com free account cannot play the free game of the day with your add-on.
Recap and Condensed play but Full games fail.
See debug log.
Double checked credentials and logout numerous times.
Using a fresh install of your repo and version 2016.4.12 of the add-on.
Pointing a web browser to
www.mlb.com/mediacenter plays the free game of the day flawlessly.
Seems the problem is on your end. Sure hope you can fix this. Cheers
P.S. it would be good if the add-on indicated the free game of the day.
