Actually, it's a bonus that he does this. Most authors do not.

Thanks @erack for the extra effort!

Most don't because it results in 2 poorer addon's instead of one quality one.....we will see if this ends up like that.
You think changing one line of code results in a poorer version? I don't think you understand how this actually works...

- Rolled back the stream urls to previous version (to fix commercial break issues)
- Lowered the python version so Jarvis users can install directly from my repo. So from now on all versions in my repo will support jarvis 16 and up and the version in the official kodi will be Krypton 17 and up

I gather that the issue with the commercials that you’re referring to was buffering during the commercials and sound sometimes not coming back on when the commercials end. That does seem to be resolved in rev 2017.4.12. But I’m curious – what was the root cause of that? On MLBTV’s support forum users have been reporting that problem with the official MLBTV viewing apps. MLBTV's tech support is basically denying the issue and sending people reporting the problem on a wild goose chase of reinstalling the app, changing their DNS settings, updating their device’s firmware, etc.
No, some reported the stream would stop and send them back to the menu during a commercial break. I wouldn't even wager to guess what their proprietary media player is having issues with.
I was one with the commercial break issue and can say that the new 4. 12 update fixed the problem. It wasn't just a buffering issue either, after the commercial break would end instead of going back to the game you would get booted back to the "todays games" screen. Thanks again.
random question - is there a way to get 60fps at 3500k? roku seems to be able to do this, i have it locked to 3.5mbps and it's still clearly 60fps smooth...wondering if this might help resolve the buffering issues some of us are still having. if i pick the 3500k streams in the kodi add-on, i'm never able to get 60fps...

Are you sure that your Roku is receiving 720p@60fps on the 3500kbps setting and not just upscaling everything to 60fps before outputting to your TV?

that's a good question, i have no idea. all i know it's definitely displaying at 60fps when i have the bitrate locked to 3500...

Is that frame rate being reported by the TV or by the Roku? One way to test that might be to select a lower bit rate on the Roku and see if it still says that you are getting 60fps - for instance set it to 450kbps and if it still says that you're getting 60fps then the Roku must be inserting frames. I could be mistaken, but AFAIK the only combinations of resolution and frame rate that MLBTV is streaming are 224/30p, 288/30p, 360/30p, 504/30p, 540/30p, 720/30p, and 720/60p. If you are seeing a combination of resolution and frame rate that is not on that list then something must be re-sampling the incoming stream.

to be honest i haven't even checked to see what the reported frame rate is...i can just tell it's 60fps. it looks identical to my directv feed.

i spent years watching it at 30fps, where it was obviously more jittery than the satellite feed. i know this is smoother than that...i'll check it next time i'm upstairs, though.

I'm assuming that when you say that you're getting 60fps at 3500kbps from the Roku that that's based upon a measurement or a read-out rather than upon a subjective impression. I don't find there to be a day/night difference between MLBTV's 720p@30fps and 720p@60fps streams - the latter looks better but in an uncontrolled test I might mistake one for the other.

Even 30fps should not have obvious stuttering or flickering. How does the 5000kbps feed look you in Kodi compared to DirectTV?

btw, in kodi you can see all the tech specs of the feed by pressing O on the keyboard.

the 5k feeds are identical to the directv feeds, the 3500 feeds are not. they are clearly jittery...not enough to not watch it, but enough that it's obviously not the same frame rate as satellite. however, the 5k feeds buffer for me pretty often, hence me using roku. with roku i'm getting buffering once ever 5-6 innings as opposed to every half inning with the 5k feeds on kodi.

as for it being a subjective impression, you'll just have to trust me. i can tell when it's 60fps and when it's not...it's quite obvious to my eye.

Not at all....it's one line of code now sure...but historically most dev's who maintain more than one version of the same addon end up leaving one behind.....it's your choice of course but don't act like it's the norm to have multiple versions of addons. Why not have a version that works with version 12,13,14 and 15 of Kodi as well?
