Not at all....it's one line of code now sure...but historically most dev's who maintain more than one version of the same addon end up leaving one behind.....it's your choice of course but don't act like it's the norm to have multiple versions of addons. Why not have a version that works with version 12,13,14 and 15 of Kodi as well?
If I could've submitted it to the official repo with the Jarvis xmbc.python verision (like it was originally) I would have.
http://kodi.wiki/view/Addon.xml#Dependency_versions
12 is deprecated and before 15 passing cookies to streams didn't work or at least didn't work well on all platforms. Either way I don't feel like arguing with you any more and have no reason to justify my actions to you. Good day, carry on.
data point here, just back from australia and using 4.12...no buffering so far this afternoon, watching giants/rockies on both feeds (5k). checked the buffer at a few points and it seems consistent. i don't think i've seen it drop below 5-6 seconds, even on commercial breaks which is when it would almost always buffer previously. first gen fire stick, and was having awful buffering problems before i left for australia a week ago.
not sure if that's just because it's a saturday afternoon and not as many people are watching...we'll see if that holds later this afternoon when i try to watch the mets at 4pm (southern california here).
edit: just played 30+ minutes of giants/rockies without a single buffering incident. not one. game ended, switched to astros/a's, and had two buffering circles before the game even came back from commercial and now the buffer timer says 1:17 / 0:55. i give up...there's no rhyme or reason as to when this thing works and when it doesn't.
edit 2: seems my issue at this moment is with akamai. locked to level 3 via the CDN preference in settings, and now it's working again. would it be possible to get an "always ask" setting for CDN similar to what we already have with selecting the bit rate?
edit 3: watched the first 49 minutes of mets/marlins without incident. after that, the current timer caught up with and passed the buffer (first number in the progress bar is further along than the second)...it seems once this happens, the stream is toast - the only way to recover is to skip back to get it to start the buffer over again, or restart the stream.
At the start of the season I was experiencing zero buffering watching on the Firestick. The past 3-4 days getting a ton. Was trying to watch the Red Sox/Rays game this afternoon and it was just unwatchable. I switched to the MLB App on Firestick and NO buffering. Bummer because watching in KODI when the stream is good I am getting 59.940 FPS consistently. I've tested 3 of the late games today in KODI and all the streams are great with no buffering. Seems as though I only get buffering when watching the Red Sox (of course my team!) games as of late.

Just goes to show how difficult it must be for MLBTV to track down the source of users’ problems when they occur. I watched that same Sox/Rays game today from beginning to end at 5000kbps and with the “Akamai” CDN setting with a M8S Android box and it didn’t buffer even once. And I’m in Thailand. All the Red Sox games have been that way for me since the 2017.4.12 version of this addon came out, but I have had a little bit of trouble with some of the West Coast games that I sometimes switch to after the Sox game ends.
just to prove there's no real rhyme or reason here - watching dodgers/dbacks right now (in southern california), locked to level 3 CDN, on a first gen fire stick, and i'm 46+ minutes in with not a single buffering issue.
there's no way to modify the buffer size, right? i feel like if the buffer size could be extended from 7 to 10-15 seconds, that would solve pretty much all buffering issues...

2nd Gen
anyone else that's able to watch the national game right now get the KMOX audio working? i can get the yankees english/spanish audio, but the other audio feed sounds like it's just a crowd mic with nothing else...
edit: nevermind, i see it's only home english/spanish audio or park audio (which is what i was getting). that's annoying...
First, let me say I'm new at this and still learning about the wonderful world of Kodi. I'm running LibreElec on a raspberry pi 3 and having trouble with the MLB.TV addon. I'm getting a username and password error. I've double checked the password and haven't typed it in wrong. I can access the non-blackout games on my laptop without issue. I'm able to play everything but the full game on the addon. I'm kind of stumped on what to try next, any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks, guys.

If you can ssh into your box you can verify the username/password in the settings file. For LibreELEC it should be here:
Code:
/storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.mlbtv/settings.xml

Yeah the CDN settings worked great for me last night. Was watching the Sox/Jays game (2nd Gen Firestick) with a ton of buffering. Switched to CDN with Akami option at 5000 Kbs and no buffering the rest of the game.
Mlb.tv was working fine for 2 weeks now i get no live game. What shoul i do
Yes no full games working. Live or archive.
XBOX One is working, ATV4 App is not starting.
