I have just started using KodiBuntu.
Is there a way to delay the launch of Kodi until there is a network connection?

you could use the wake-on lan setting for that:

thanks. I was playing with wakonlan.xml before, but had no success.
but after reading the wiki better, I realised the setting in "power savings", "try to wake remote servers on access" is all I needed.
